If you dream of a roaring fire and the luxury of complete privacy, if you crave exquisite silver-service French and Northern Italian inspired cuisine, or if you just want to sink into a deliciously comfortable bed at the end of a busy day exploring the extraordinary surrounding countryside, Gunyah is the place for you.

The verandah overlooking the garden is an ideal place to relax, catch up on some reading, or engage in some lively discussion. Sitting in this spot, guests often end their day listening to the resonant song of the rare native bellbirds and marvelling at the brightness of the Southern Cross in the clear night sky.

Although Gunyah Country Estate is  over a century old, every modern facility is provided for your convenience.  The Lodge at Gunyah Country Estate offers year-round hospitality to a maximum of 12 staying guests. It is also a venue for weddings as well as private functions, company meetings and group tours. Utter discretion and privacy are assured.

The interior of the lodge is smoke-free.

There is also something refreshing and inspiring in the fresh air around the Lodge. That’s why our guests keep coming back, whether it’s for a romantic get-away, as a base for exploring the extraordinary South Island or a retreat for conferences or business.
